Fingerworks makes a touch pad that can sense multiple touches simultaneously. Works with Microsoft/Apple/Linux. Supplied drivers do gesture recognition for keyboard/mouse replacement, but there's a SDK available that will give you raw finger tracks, say if you want to use it for a music controller. The price is $140, which seems cheap.
